做為眾議院「外交事務委員會歐洲、歐亞大陸和新興威脅小組」的主席，做為一名長期堅決反共以及反對獨裁、專制與威權的美國政治人物，羅拉巴克當然十分重視歐巴馬行政團隊所提出的「轉向東亞或向東亞進行戰略再平衡」的政策，但既然歐巴馬已提出這個戰略及政策，所以羅拉巴克的注意力就在歐巴馬是否把這件事當一回事以及是否努力執行上，我們今天從他的官網(rohrabacher.house.gov)上調出他的辦公室所發的一篇新聞稿，並把它轉貼出來:

WASHINGTON – Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-CA, Tuesday criticized the Obama administration’s “much ballyhooed strategic pivot to Asia,” calling it “no strategy, merely an empty slogan.” To be serious about the U.S. stake in Asia, he said in a congressional hearing, an organization of security and cooperation in the region should be created. [羅拉巴克眾議員批評歐巴馬行政團隊所提出的「轉向東亞或向東亞進行戰略再平衡」的政策，指它是一個大吹大擂的政策，沒有戰略，只是一個空洞的口號。羅拉巴克在一項國會聽證會中說，如果歐巴馬行政團隊真的在意美國在亞洲的利益，那它就應該創立一個亞太地區的安全與合作組織。]
“Allowing China to continue to harass and threaten its neighbors,” he said in a joint hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommitee on Asia and the Pacific and the Armed Services Subcommitee on Seapower and Projection Forces, “is not in our national interest nor does it advance the cause of world peace.” The hearing dealt with Maritime Sovereignty in the East and South China Seas. [羅拉巴克在一項國會聽證會中說，容許中國繼續對它的鄰國加以騷擾，不符合美國的國家利益，也無法促進世界和平。]
“The strong message we have sent recently as it pertains to China is we are cowards,” Rohrabacher complained. “We are weak in the face of the world’s largest human rights abuser. We offer buzzwords.”
The congressman urged the creation of an Asian security pact composed of democratic nations to counter the growing menace of Beijing’s bellicosity. “The time is long overdue,” he said, “for us to develop something along the lines of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) for Asia for the strategic pivot to be anything more than a cliché. In addition to our longstanding agreements with Japan (whose defense buildup we should encourage) and our economic associations with countries in the region, we must be clear that Chinese military aggression and territorial expansion must be deterred through alliances, exercises, and resolve. As it stands now, the administration is advertising our weakness and indifference in cowering before an international bully.” [羅拉巴克敦促行政部門創設一個由民主政體所組成的亞洲安全協約，以便對北京的黷武好戰所帶來的日益增加的威脅加以反制。]
